"Out of the 9 full-time staff and 1 part-time we’ve racked up over 130 years collective experience within the world of web.
You could also make a music band out of us with two Saxophonists, guitarist, trumpet player, backing singer and someone who’s apparently pretty good on the triangle.
Family run Kontrolit started life back 1998 (when Google were the new kids on the block). We are what you might call a fully integrated web agency, essentially offering unique websites tailored for each customer with digital marketing / SEO services to drive performance.
We recognised the benefits we could bring if we used our expertise to design and build complex websites that enabled businesses to trade more profitably online, whilst putting our customers and their team in complete control. This is where the name ‘Kontrolit’ came from.
The answer to how we create complex but easy to use websites was formed back in the year 2000 with our bespoke, modular Content Management System on our own Kontrolit platform, ‘Kit’. We’ve worked hard over the years since to develop and optimise the perfect system, balancing sophistication and advanced features with flexibility and ease of use.
With the business split between designers / developers and Digital Marketing experts, we are able to work on non Kontrolit sites applying our magic SEO wand, or creating a new website altogether."
Richard explains why he loves working for Kontrolit, "As cliché as it may sound, I do love the diversity of our customers and my role meeting them, working with them and watching them grow. It gives me a buzz. I've never seen so many examples of customers growing over the years, with one of our flagship customers coming to us 12 years ago selling goods out of his garage. They are now have a multimillion turnover and receiving thousands of orders a day, averaging out at one order every minute 24/7. We are immensely proud that it's our gear (Kit) that's driving their expansion.
We work with such a diverse range of business types. Next month we have a cushion manufacture website launching and we recently went live with the new tourist website for Visit South Somerset."
"We love YIC because the staff are so friendly, giving the place a mini village feel. The collaboration spaces and cross pollination of work that goes on between other businesses too. But let’s face it being a bit of geek, my new favourite thing is the ‘Hub’ YIC’s screen on wheels…awesome!
The combination of location, good space and facilities made YIC an obvious option when moving premises. All the basics are there including fast internet speeds. But the extra gem for us was the meeting space, good vibe feeling we got every time we walk about and the business interactions going on that others options just didn’t have."
